What are Angels?

Angels are vibrations of energy that act as messengers of the Divine in the order of the Universe. They are messengers from the higher realms allowing us a greater understanding and connection to Spirit. The word angel comes from angelos which is the Greek word for messenger.

Not only are angels messengers, they are also part of our consciousness, representing realms beyond thought and idea. The human mind needs form, so these high vibrations of energy take on the physical form of an angel, or rather which we have been conditioned to understand as that of an angel, to encourage direct communion with the Creator. We create a dimensional blending that enables them to appear in a form that is acceptable to us, acceptable to our minds.

Throughout history angels have inspired poets, artists, writers, prophets and religious leaders as well as everyday men and women, which is why we hear references to Angels in various religious texts such as the Koran, Bible, and Torah. Angels have appeared in the art of the early centuries and have been integral to many of the religious and spiritual stories we have grown up hearing about.
